Biostimulant effect of TRICHOMAX WP, KLAMIC WP and Seamaxx on the vegetative development of pineapple (Ananas comosus var MD-2).
The evaluation of biological products could generate a range of alternative or complementary products for the agricultural
systems of pineapple and other crops. The present work evaluated the biostimulant effect of the use of Trichomax, Klamic and
Seamaxx in pineapple cultivation. The study consisted of the evaluation of fresh weights in pineapple var MD-2 at 34 weeks
after planting (WAP), as a variable of evaluation of vegetative development. Each treatment had 4 beds with 40 unfruited ratoon
sucker seeds between 180-250 gr for a total of 160 plants per treatment. The treatments were: 1. Trichomax, 2. Klamic, 3.
Trichomax + Klamic, 4. Trichomax + Seamaxx, 5. Klamic + Seamaxx, 6. Trichomax + Klamix + Seamaxx, 7. Seamaxx and 8.
Commercial control (no biostimulant application). The treatments were applied at 6 and 12 WAP. The results in weight at 34
weeks showed statistically significant differences for treatments of Trichomax + Klamic and Trichomax + Seamaxx, improving
5.2% and 7.34% respectively, the weight of the plants in relation to the commercial control. None of the products generated a
positive impact on the crop when they were applied independently, but a synergistic effect was found between Trichomax and
Seamaxx and Trichomax and Klamic that raises very promising combined strategies to reduce the time to flower induction.
